Mumbai, Jul 13: Bangladeshi writer-activist Taslima Nasreen has lashed out at Bollywood actor Anupam Kher on Twitter for his remark against Trinamool Minister Mukul Roy.
Anupam Kher had said: "When a minister refuses to visit an accident site where so many have died, he should resign, wear bangles and sit at home."
The fiery Taslima replied : "The Big Fellow should be called nasty misogynist, unless he wears sari and bangles and feel proud of wearing these.
"Men think women's clothing will castrate their phallic privilges, because maleness is associated with power and femalesness with submission."
"His thinking is backward. Still consider women as abla (powerless). Shame on him."
"It's not shameful for women to wear men's clothes. Why should it be shameful for men to wear women's clothes?"
And these were Anupam's replies:
"Friends please stop reacting to self-styled activists. We are brought up on Indian proverbs. You need to be an Indian to understand them."
"So let's go for some Indian proverbs. For starters...Tu Kaun Main KhamKhah."
