Shimla, June 18 :  Sulking over being sidelined by the state Congress, Union Minister Vir Bhadra Singh today announced that he would not contest the forthcoming Parliamentary elections.

"I would not contest the next Lok Sabha elections and abide only by the dictates of AICC president Sonia Gandhi," Singh, five-time chief minister from Himachal Pradesh said.

Talking to reporters he said that he was not aware of what decisions the state party was taking as he was not taken into confidence and would obey the orders of Sonia Gandhi.

However, he parried questions about contesting the Assembly elections which are just 18 months away.

"I would not interfere in party affairs in the state and do only those works, assigned to me by AICC president," Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Industries and four-time MP said. PTI
