Islamabad: The NSA level talks between India and Pakistan will take place on August 23 in New Delhi, Islamabad confirmed today.
India had earlier proposed August 23-24 for the meeting between Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Pakistan Prime Minister's Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz in New Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif had decided during a meeting in Ufa, Russia last month that their National Security Advisors (NSA) will meet shortly.
Last week, Aziz had said that Pakistan is preparing the agenda for talks.
Another official said that Pakistan is aware of India's agenda to highlight the issue of terrorism and they are planning to counter it effectively.
It is believed that the delay in taking a decision on dates was on account of the three-day visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Belarus who returned back on Wednesday night.
