Haridwar, Sep 29: Sadhvi Chidarpita, who had rejoined former BJP MP Swami Chinmayanand's ashram after having once accused him of raping her, has once again escaped from his ashram near Haridwar.

Sadhvi Chidarpita, who was staying at the ashram since August 9, after she left her husband BP Gautam alleging that he was harassing her for dowry, left the ashram early Thursday on pretext of going to Haridwar town.

While some reports claimed that she has gone back to her husband in Buduan in Uttar Pradesh, others claimed that her whereabouts are yet unknown.

Sadhvi Chidarpita alias Komal Gupta had shot to limelight late last year after she filed an FIR against Chinmayanand.

She had alleged that the former Jaunpur MP had held her captive at Mumukshu Ashram in Shahjahanpur since 2005 and was assaulted and repeatedly raped by the Swami. She also alleged in the FIR that she had to undergo abortions two times.

The Swami had rubbished Chidarpita's claims. He said that Komal, who belongs to Delhi, used to work at a call centre and had first come to him along with her mother about 11 years ago. An MP at the time, he had hired her as his official personal assistant. After 2003, she had shifted to his Shahjahanpur ashram.

He had claimed that Komal, who was initiated as a Sadhvi with the new name Chidarpita by him, was accusing him of rape after he refused to help her bag a ticket for UP assembly elections.

Chidarpita was living with her husband BP Gautam, a freelance journalist, since then. Chidarpita had fallen in love with Gautam and married him, despite her having been initiated into monastic life.

After she came back from the ashram, all was well for a while but their relationship worsened after Gautam, allegedly, started to torture her for dowry.

She then contacted Swami Chinmayanand again, who agreed to accept her back in the ashram, only to see her escape from the ashram again.

Shocked at her antics, Swami Chinamayanand now says that Sadhvi Chidarpita will not be accepted in the ashram ever again. Ashram authorities have informed the police as well.
