New Delhi, Oct 20: Airconditioning at the swanky new Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport was off for more than six hours on Wednesday as there was a prolonged power cut.
All essential services at the airport were run with the help of diesel generators, a spokesperson of DIAL (Delhi International Airport Ltd) said.
The spokesperson said supply of power through 66KV feeders of distcom BSES was erratic throughout the day.
Power supply failed at 3.45 pm and the airconditioning had to be switched off. The entire power load at the airport was run on diesel generator systems to carry out essential services, he added. Power failure also occured for nearly five minutes in the morning. '
Most of the passengers had to sit in the waiting lounges without airconditioning and had to sweat it out for a long duration.
