New Delhi, Mar 25: A drug peddler was arrested here and heroin worth Rs.30 lakh recovered from him, police said Sunday.
Zakir Hussain was apprehended near Kashmere Gate Saturday evening.
"About 300 grams of fine quality heroin worth Rs.30 lakh in the international market was recovered from him," Additional Commissioner of Police Ravindra Yadav said.
Police received a tip-off that a man would deliver a consignment of heroin to one of his contacts near Kashmere Gate, Yadav said.
The 23-year-old from West Bengal would regularly supply heroin in east Delhi's Bhajanpura J.J. Colony and surrounding areas. He had been arrested earlier also, he added.
A case has been registered against Hussain and an investigation is on, Yadav said.
