Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Monday night ruled out merger with the Congress and refused to give any commitment  about an alliance with the party in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

At a day-long meeting of the General Body, the party decided to form a committee of five senior
leaders  headed by K Keshava Rao to  look into the issue of alliance with any possible potential party.

Later, talking to reporters TRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao said, he had put forth some demands during his meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, but she ignored them. "I think she has been misguided (by her advisers)", he added.

"TRS will exist and will fight the elections", Chandrasekhar Rao said.

Rao said, the merger with Congress is ruled out, as the party workers have opposed any merger with the Congress, because they have achieved Telangana state after a prolonged struggle.
