The Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Thursday alongwith Mumbai Police arrested UP's dreaded gangster Munna Bajrangi from Malad. He will be produced in a court in Delhi
Munna Bajrangi is the alleged assassin of former BJP MLA from Ghazipur Krishnanand Rai. Bajrangi is involved in more than 80 crimes, mostly murders and kidnappings.
He was staying in Nalasopara area of Mumbai under a pseudonym Prem Singh for the last five years, police said. He was working with a property dealer and was picked up on Thursday afternoon from Film City Road in Malad by a joint team of Delhi and Mumbai police.
A total of Rs 12 lakh reward had been announced for the arrest of Munna Bajrangi, out of which the UP Police had announced a reward of Rs 2 lakhs.
Originally a resident of Pure Dayalpur under Sureri PS of Jaunpur, UP, Munna Bajrangi had been absconding since last 15 years. Munna is the right hand man of UP's mafia don Mukhtar Ansari. His wife Nikita Singh is a block president in Jaunpur district. His family resides at Main Chauraha, Jaunpur. Munna's brother Bhvan Singh was arrested in Varanasi some time back in the NREGA scam. He is presently in Varanasi Central Jail.
