Agra: Over 120 prisoners and the deputy superintendent of the central jail here have been admitted to hospital after being diagnosed with dengue fever, authorities said.

The prisoners and the jail's Deputy Superintendent K.P. Singh were admitted to the district hospital and the SN Medical College hospital.

Officials said 100 patients were being treated in the SN Medical College hospital while 23 were in the district hospital.

Blood samples of the other prisoners have been taken as a preventive measure, said Senior Jail Superintendent B.R. Verma.

A cleanliness drive was launched in the jail Sunday.
