New Delhi, Oct 15: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Monday registered two new FIRs in its ongoing probe related to allocation of coal blocks and raided 16 places in seven cities across the country, an agency official said.

The First Information Reports (FIR) were registered separately against two companies -- New Delhi-based company Green Infrastructure Pvt Ltd (now Athena Infra Projects Pvt Ltd) and Satna (Madhya Pradesh) based Kamal Sponge Steel & Power Ltd -- regarding misrepresentation of net worth during coal blocks allocation.

Six directors, some public servants, and some unknown persons related to Green Infrastructure have been named in the FIR.

"The directors have been identified as M.S. Ramkrishna, Yugandhar Meka, Allure Raju Sitarama, Vemuri Ramesh, Parthasarthy Commandur and Prasad N.," said a CBI official.

Three directors, an accountant, some unidentifed public servants along with other people have been named in the FIR against Kamal Sponge Steel & Power Ltd.

"Company's three directors -- identified as Pavan Kumar Ahluwalia, Kamaljeet Singh Ahluwalia and Prashant Kumar Ahluwalia, chartered accountant Amit Goyal and some unidentified public servants have been named in the FIR," said the officer.

The raids were conducted in 16 places in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Secunderabad (all Andhra Pradesh), Rourkela (Odisha), Satna, Jaipur, and Delhi, officials said.

A preliminary enquiry to examine the irregularities, if any, in the allocation of coal blocks during the period between 2006 and 2009 was registered on a reference from Central Vigilance Committee (CVC), in June this year. Earlier, the CBI had registered seven cases in this regard.
