Srinagar: A cloudburst hit Baltal area, which houses a base camp for the Amarnath pilgrimage, in Jammu and Kashmir`s Ganderbal district on Friday.
Authorities said all pilgrims there are safe and have been moved to safer places.
"A cloud burst hit the Baltal mountains in the evening. Water entered the Baltal base camp of Amarnath Yatra in the area. But all yatris are safe and tents housing the pilgrims have been re-located," a senior police officer said.
The Srinagar-Leh highway has been closed because of the flash flood, officials said.
