Central team assures helping Odisha govt
Bhubaneswar: Lauding steps taken by Odisha government to deal with cyclone Phailin and the subsequent floods, the Inter Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) yesterday said it would do the best it can to help the state.“We
This has earned both national and international praise for proper handling of the calamity.
Earlier, the team held a meeting with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other state government officials.
The team during its four-day on the spot assessment divided itself in two groups. While one visited Ganjam district the other visited Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts.
Meanwhile, Patnaik made an aerial survey of Ganjam district today and reviewed relief and restoration activities.
Electricity to half of the consumers in the port town of Gopalpur was restored 18 days after Phailin hit land.
