Campa Cola row: SC restricts BMC from further demolition

Mumbai: The Supreme Court today restricted Brihamnumbai Municipal Corporation authorities from taking any action against illegal flats build on Campa Cola compound in Worli area of South Mumbai till 31st of May 2014.As per reports

Mumbai: The Supreme Court today restricted Brihamnumbai Municipal Corporation authorities from taking any action against illegal flats build on Campa Cola compound in Worli area of South Mumbai till 31st of May 2014.






As per reports SC has taken this decision on the basis of Media reports in favor of the residents of the society. This building is home to more than 100 families.

Supreme Court orders came after BMC demolition squad today broke the main gate of the compound and entered inside to carry out the eviction work. The police blocked outsider from entering the society.

Yesterday the residents here locked their gates and barricaded themselves inside for hours, physically blocking a demolition squad and policemen.

But by the evening civic officials snapped power, water and gas connections to the flats here.
