Speaking on the occasion, the Home Minister extended his condolences to the family of those who lost their lives in the mid June calamity in Uttarakhand.

Appreciating the efforts of the Uttarakhand government post the crisis, he said it was the largest ever rescue operation conducted in the country and said it deserved a pat on the back for carrying it out very swiftly.  

Shinde assured that the Centre would support the state government in any disaster relief work.
