Art summit organised in Jaipur in November
Jaipur: An art summit will be held here in November on the lines of Jaipur Literature Festival to give contemporary Indian art a centre stage. The Jaipur Art Summit (JAS) will be held from November
The summit, the first of its kind in the state, is an effort to take this legacy forward and become the definitive one in the years to come, she said.
“We are happy that this summit has emerged from the art community itself and we see this as a community festival.
We hope that in the coming years, JAS will set new benchmarks in the field of art,” she said.
Prof R B Bhaskaran, eminent artist and ex-chairman of the National Lalit Kala Akademi said, “I expect a lot of changes to happen now.
I know there are lots of good artists in Jaipur and recently a lot of new galleries have come up.
“So, apart from the heritage sites, art could become another attraction of the city. We are sure the summit will be an amazing success for the city and the state,” he said.
JAS will display creative expressions across many media and formats like canvas, visual and digital art, art installations, sculptures, interactive art and other contemporary and folk-centric expressions.
The summit aims to create a premier platform for modern and contemporary art, while promoting dynamic talents from across the country.
The summit will include two days of seminars with four papers being read on each day by eminent scholars on diverse aspects of arts, according to literature provided to media.
