Gorakhpur: Seven more children succumbed to encephalitis pushing the death count from the viral disease to 435 this year in eastern region of Uttar Pradesh, health officials said yesterday.
The children died in BRD Medical College Hospital here since last evening, they said adding four of them were from Deoria and one each Gorakhpur, Kushinagar and Bihar.
With these deaths, the number of fatalities in eastern UP from the disease since this year rose to 435, the officials said.
