Good news awaits Ram bhakts, says Yogi; Hindu seers push for law on Ram temple, to hold meetings across nation

A congregation of Hindu seers also demanded that the government bring an ordinance or a law for construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and added they would hold meetings across the country to rally public sentiments in the matter.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday asserted that a Ram temple will be built in Ayodhya soon, saying that a piece of good news regarding this awaited devotees all over the country. He also appealed everyone to light a lamp this Diwali in the name of Lord Ram. He said a South Korean delegation was coming to Ayodhya to celebrate Diwali on November 6 when the festival of lights would be celebrated at Lord Ram's birthplace on a grand scale. 

A congregation of Hindu seers also demanded that the government bring an ordinance or a law for construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and added they would hold meetings across the country to rally public sentiments in the matter.

"The seers have declared - either bring a law or an ordinance for building Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. We agree to both conditions," Swami Jitendranand Saraswati, National Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti that organised the two-day event that concluded on Sunday, told media. "In a democracy, public's mandate is a major factor. If people's opinion can make a government, then to form the public opinion (towards our cause) we are ready to do rallies and public meetings," he added.

Besides resolving to push for a law on Ram temple, the Sant Samiti announced it would be holding large "dharm sabhas" (religious gatherings) at Ayodhya, Bengaluru and Nagpur on November 25 and in New Delhi on December 9. It also plans to hold public meetings in 500 districts across the country. The body has requested the people to light an extra lamp for construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Swami Paramhans threatens self-immolation if govt fails to fulfill Ram temple construction 'promise'

Swami Paramhans Das, mahant of Tapaswi Chawni temple in Ayodhya, has threatened self-immolation on December 6, if the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was not officially announced by then. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath must make the announcement by December 5. Paramhans sat on an indefinite fast on October 6, demanding a law be passed by the Modi government for construction of Ram Temple. After a week of the fast, Paramhans was detained by the police and he was made to meet UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow, who convinced him to give up the fast, the chief priest claimed.

No power can stop construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya: Giriraj

Union Minister Giriraj Singh said no power in the world can stop the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. He said people want the government and the court to find a way for constructing it. "Prabhu Sri Ram is the cornerstone of the faith of more than 100 crore people in the country. There is resentment and impatience among the people as cold water has been thrown on their hopes, but a way out (to construct the temple) will be chalked out. No power in the world can stop the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya," he said.

Talk of building mosque close to Ram temple can make Hindus intolerant: Uma Bharti

Union minister Uma Bharti said while Hindus were the "most tolerant" people in the world, any talk of constructing a mosque on the periphery of a Ram temple in Ayodhya could make them "intolerant". The minister also invited Congress chief Rahul Gandhi to lay the foundation stone of the temple in Ayodhya with her, saying he would "atone for the sins" of his party by doing so."Hindus are the most tolerant community in the world. I will appeal to all politicians: please don't make Hindus intolerant by talking about building a mosque on the outer periphery of the birthplace of Lord Ram in Ayodhya," Bharti said.

Ramdev for Ram temple through legislation

Yoga guru Ramdev made a strong pitch for constructing a Ram temple in Ayodhya, saying a legislation should be brought in Parliament if the Supreme Court does not deliver a verdict on the matter soon. Ramdev said there could be sections averse to bringing a legislation for the construction of a temple in Ayodhya but there was no opposition to Ram in India.
