One terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Tantrypora area of Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir this morning.
The slain militant has been identified as Ishfaq Paddar of Machiwa, Kulgam. He is believed to associated with Laskar-e-taiba (LeT).
The encounter was continuing when the reports last came in.
A day before Bakrid, two jawans were martyred on Friday in double-attacks by Pakistan.
One cop was martyred and at least four others were injured when militants attacked a bus carrying security personnel near Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar.
In another incident, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed on Friday in a sniper attack by the Pakistani army from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.
These attacks came a day before the Muslim holy festival of Eid-ul-Adha.
