Honeypreet Insan was arrested in connection with Panchkula violence.

Honeypreet Insan, the controversial daughter of jailed Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, has confessed before the SIT team of Haryana Police that she was behind Panchkula violence that claimed at least 41 lives, reports said.

According to reports, Priyanka Taneja aka Honeypreet, who was arrested in connection with the violence that followed the sect head's conviction in rape case,  has even admitted to preparing the guide maps of Panchkula.

During interrogation, Honeypreet has reportedly also revealed that Dera functionaries were given responsibility to organise and fund the violence.

Meanwhile, Ram Rahim Singh's close associate Honeypreet has been sent to police remand till October 13.

Honeypreet was at the top of a list of 43 people "wanted" by the state police in connection with the violence. The Haryana Police had on September 1 issued a look-out notice against her and another key aide of the Dera chief, Aditya Insan, following apprehensions that they might try to "escape from the country".

Following the conviction of the Dera chief, violence had erupted in Panchkula and Sirsa claiming 41 lives. The Dera chief has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping two female disciples.
