New Delhi: After an argument over a battery operated toy car at India Gate, a mob of 40 people allegedly thrashed four members of a family who came there for a visit on Friday evening.
At around 11 pm, the members of the family, who had come from Old Delhi, got into an argument with a toy car owner.
They alleged that their child was carried in a toy car with no batteries and when they refused to pay for the ride, the toy car owner slapped one of the family members.
“There was no battery in the toy car carrying my child. They slapped one of our family members when we objected,” said one of the victims.
He added that around 40 people gathered nearby to beat him up with belts and sticks after he intervened into the quarrel.
Medical aid was provided to the injured.
The police have begun their investigation in the case.
