Journalist who attacked Tanushree Dutta’s car in viral video from 2008 defends his actions

Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta has created some ruffles in the feathers of Bollywood when she decided to open up again about the alleged sexual harassment that she faced in the hands of veteran actor Nana Patekar. As narrated by her, Patekar touched her inappropriately during the shooting of Horn OK Please. On his request, choreographer Ganesh Acharya added extra steps that would allow the actor to get close to the actress. When Tanushree Dutta refused to shoot for the song, she was allegedly manhandled and harassed on the sets. In a video from 2008, that went viral on the internet, goons are seen thrashing Tanushree’s car.

In the video, a journalist caught the limelight when he was thrashing the car’s windshield with his camera. Later, he even went to puncture, Tanushree’s car’s tyres. Opening up in an interview to The Quint, he said that he attacked her car before her earlier had a fight with her team. The journalist in the video is Pawan Bharadwaj, who is wearing orange t-shirt.

He said that he arrived the studio to cover the song shoot. However, he had no idea what was happening there. When he tried to shoot Tanushree Dutta, her bodyguards allegedly thrashed his camera and even attacked his reporter Tejal.

“I almost fainted, the bystanders sprinkled water on my face and I revived myself and realised that their car had been stopped near the exit gate by a crowd. I was angry that my camera had been destroyed, I was worried about my job and so I demanded a compensation, but they did not listen to me, so I started hitting the car with my camera in my frustration,” he added.

Tanushree Dutta hurt with Amitabh Bachchan’s response, says these evasive responses make no sense

His explanation doesn’t justify the inhumane act he is seen carrying out in the video. Another journalist Wasim Akhter has quashed his claims and exposed his web of lies in an interview to Times Now.

“Tanushree Dutta walked out of the set holding her father’s hand. I was trying to get her reaction, but she was in no mood to speak. She went straight to her vanity van with her father in the tow. The cameraman is question in the video earlier, was trying poke his camera inside the vanity van, which his very wrong. We should respect everyone’s privacy. Her father forced the door close which left his camera broken. The journalist then influenced his reporter and started banging the door of the vanity van,” he said.

Going by the eye witness’ account, it seems like that the cameraman in question wasn’t able to control his anger and he rather vented it out in a very irrational and inhumane way.
