April 25 marks the 25th death anniversary of Bollywood actress Divya Bharti , who died under mysterious circumstances at the tender age of 19. Born as Divya Om Prakash Bharti on 25 February 1974, the actress starred in several commercially successful Hindi and Telugu language films in the early 1990s. She died on 5 April 1993, due to head injuries sustained after falling off the balcony of her fifth-floor apartment at Tulsi Buildings in Versova, Mumbai.

On her 25th death anniversary, let’s remember the diva with these iconic Divya Bharti songs that will stay with us forever.

Saat Samundar Paar (Vishwatma, 1992)

Sadhana Sargam’s voice and awesome moves by Divya Bharti make this song feel fabulous. The song gained wider recognition for Divya from public and film critics, alike. She was casted opposite Sunny Deol in Vishwatma, the movie to which the song belongs.

Tu Pagal Premi Awara (Shola Aur Shabnam, 1992)

Bin Tere Kuch Bhi Nahin Hai (Jaan Se Pyaara, 1992)

Starring Divya Bharti and Govinda, this song beautifully depicts the conversation between two young lovers. The song’s music comes from Anand-Milind and lyrics are by Sameer. Sadhna Sargam and Udit Narayan create a perfect duo who gave life to the song.

Teri Umeed Tera Intezaar (Deewana, 1992)

Music by Nadeem-Shravan and appearance of Rishi Kapoor with Divya made this song a blockbuster hit. Voices of Kumar Sanu and Sadhna Sargam contributed to the popularity of this classic hit.

Aap Jo Mere Meet Na Hote (Geet, 1992)

Superb vocals by Lata Mangeshkar and vivid lyrics penned down by Indeevar, the song features Divya in a singer’s role. This track is featured during the movie climax and beautifully draws the attention of the listeners.
