Former beauty queen and actor Sayali Bhagat was injured when the car she was travelling in was hit by a massive landslide near Manali, reports Mumbai newspaper DNA.

The actor was travelling to Manali from Delhi to shoot in a forthcoming film with actor Govinda. “She was rushed to a local hospital where she was released after treatment. Anyway, she preferred to be treated at a hospital in Mumbai or Delhi for her injuries. The injuries are not grievous and I think she will recover in a few days time,” said her spokesperson.

The actor had been shooting for quite some time with Govinda and according to sources, the crew decided to shoot even in the rough weather to catch up with pending schedules.

“Sayali plays a prospective bride to Govinda in the film, Naughty at 40. The shoot was behind schedule and we wanted to catch up. That is why we went ahead with the shoot even though the weather was rough and there were warnings of landslides. We had informed Sayali that she can decide to drop the schedule if she wanted to but she insisted that she wanted to join the rest of the crew,” says a source.

According to the source, her car was hit by a big rock that narrowly missed the passenger's seat and landed on the boot.

“All of a sudden a big rock hit Sayali's car and crashed the car's rear side glass and the boot. Sayali was petrified but was lucky that she was not hurt very badly. But the car's rear side glass and the dickey was crushed beyond repair and the car had to come to a halt. All of a sudden Sayali saw piles of stones falling on the drive way from the top of the hills and then she realised that it was a landslide. God had saved her,” continues her spokesperson.

“I heard a big thud sound on my car and the whole car went out of control. Then I saw the land sliding. I was petrified but by God's grace nothing bad happened to me but the car I was travelling in was not in a condition to move. Alternate arrangements were made for me to reach the location for the shoot by the chauffer who was driving me down to the location,” Sayali ends.
