New Delhi: Today actor Sanjay Dutt can finally take a sigh of relief after 23 long years of pain and agony. Found guilty for possessing illegal arms, the actor was sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment by the Supreme Court earlier.
This morning, on 25th February, he was released from Yerwada jail near Pune amidst tight security and media glares. The superstar flew in a chartered plane to Mumbai, visited Siddhivinayak Temple and paid respects to his mother Nargis's grave in Marine Lines.
On reaching home he held a press conference where he spoke about his relief. Sanjay managed to keep a calm poise throughout the interaction, not sounding like someone who is excited to be back.
“ It feels like I am on parole” said Dutt, while replying to one the questions.
He accepted it was difficult for the feeling to sink in as he still thinks he is on furlough.
One of the many highlights of his interaction was when he spoke about superstar Salman Khan. When asked about Salman, he said, “Salman mera chhota bhaai hai aur hamesha rahega. Mai pray karta hoon ki wo issey bhi bada star baney.”
On Salman Khan's 50th birthday last year, he was left teary eyed when he read a handwritten message by Sanju Baba.
This itself speaks volumes about the bond the both ‘Saajan' stars share.
It is also expected that Salman will attend the party hosted by Manyata at their residence to celebrate Sanjay Dutt's release.
