New Delhi: Karisma Kapoor, who has aesthetically carved Bollywood with her glamorous persona and a veneer of her acting prowess, turns 41 today.
While the actress has seen many highs and lows in both her Bollywood career and personal life, Karisma is today known as one of the most gorgeous Bollywood divas.
Enjoying the stature of being the daughter of the coveted ‘Kapoors,' Karisma had always remained grounded with the fact that she never made any use of her ‘Kapoor association' in her Bollywood career.
The lady has been considered as one of the most versatile actresses in Bollywood and the only one to have hit the screen right with Govinda. Though she started her career in the Indian film industry at the age of 17 with Prem Qaidi in the year 1991, her completely colourful pairing with Govinda is still celebrated.
After giving a few initial flops, Karisma pleased everyone with her performance in ‘Raja Hidustani' in the year 1996 opposite Aamir Khan. The actress won her first Filmfare award for the best actress and also garnered tons of appreciations from every corner for the film.
It was no looking back for her since then and Karisma effectively proved her metal in Bollywood and gave splendid performances in ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai,' ‘Hero No. 1,' Dulhan hum Le Jayenge,' ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain,' ‘Fiza,' ‘Zubeidaa' amongst many others critically acclaimed films.
Lolo, as she is known among her closed ones, Karisma Kapoor is blessed with two kids with businessman Sunjay Kapur. The actress got married in the year 2003 but has suffered a failed marriage.
After taking a clear sabbatical, she returned with ‘Dangerous Ishhq' in the year 2011 and is still active with all her brand endorsements and other public appearances.
