New Delhi: Irrfan Khan has always been popular for doing off-beat roles and doing what he thinks is qualitative. And the recent buzz would definitely put him apart from all other critically acclaimed actors we have produced so far.

According to the reports of an entertainment daily, Irrfan Khan has turned down a Hollywood project for director Shoojit Sarcar's ‘Piku.'

Irrfan, who is playing a pivotal character in the film along with Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone has reportedly refused to do Ridley Scott's ‘The Martian' that also stars Matt Damon. While the actor has already worked in acclaimed Hollywood projects like ‘The Amazing Spider-Man', ‘A Mighty Heart' amongst many others, his latest ‘The Lunchbox' has also gained international recognition to a larger extent.

Stating his prior date commitment as an issue, Irrfan said, "It was a lengthy, pivotal role (Ridely Scott's 'The Martian') but I had already committed the dates to Shoojit Sircar for Piku".

And while the shooting of Sarcar's ‘Piku' has just consummated with its Kolkata schedule, Irrfan recently elaborated around the film's plot. "It's about two people who never imagine they'll fall in love but are drawn to each other. Sometimes they feel the pull, sometimes they don't. The emotions are delicate... madhur...natural," said irrfan.
