Comedy thereafter became this actor's genre as he worked in various slapstick flicks namely, Kabul Express, Dhamaal, Hulchul, Double Dhamaal, Maine Pyar Kyu kiya and all the three instalments of Golmaal. All these flicks did moderately well.
But “Lage Raho Munna Bhai” and “Ishqiya” stood apart as these made him win the best Comedian Award at Filmfare and best supporting actor at Star Screen respectively.
