New Delhi: Bollywood actor Abhay Deol felicitated some young crusaders, who have contributed in bringing change in the society through their campaigns ranging from crime against women to protecting the environment.

The 38-year-old actor praised them and hoped their small but significant efforts would snowball into something big some day.

"This concept instantly connected with me, as I would like to believe that I too have done things differently in many ways whether it is my career or personal life. It was a pleasure to meet and honour these youngsters today. A platform like this will encourage and inspire them to bring about a change and not just talk about it," Abhay said.

The event was organised by UTV Bindass in connection to their recent initiative 'b for change'. Alisha Sharma from Mumbai and Mishika Singh from Delhi were felicitated for their respective movements -'Chappal Marungi' and 'Besharmi Morcha'. Sharma's campaign encourages victims of eve teasing to fight back the molesters while Singh's movement helps raise voice against the attitude of blaming rape or sexual harassment on any aspect of a woman's appearance.

Shreeya Parekh from Bangalore was hailed for spreading awareness about environmental issues through her blog. Rashi Anand was also lauded for her initiative 'Lakshyam', India's first toy library for under privileged children.

"It was truly inspiring to hear these young change makers talk about their work and I hope many others get inspired to bring about a change in their own little way," Abhay added.
