Rohit Shetty is back with his trademark style and genre with Simmba starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan. In the movie, Ranveer plays a corrupt cop Sangram Bhalerao, whose life is all about flexing muscles and making money from local goons and dons. However, his outlook towards life changes after his 'sister' dies. Simmba hence pledges to avenge the death of his dear one, pronouncing punishment to culprits in his own court of law. The basic storyline is that a bad guy becomes a good guy after losing a girl whom he treats as his sister.
The action drama is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Temper. Simmba also stars Sonu Sood and Ashutosh Rana in important roles. However, the one who takes away the cake is Ajay Devgn. The trailer starts and ends with our favourite Singham. Simmba trailer was launched today and fans got nostalgic seeing 'Singham' on screens. In the trailer, we see Ranveer doing more of a comedy than action. Netizens opine that the trailer is not much intriguing and lack of whistle worthy dialogues, which is important in this genre makes it dull. Have a look at what Twitterati have to say:
Apart from Ajay Devgn there's nothing in #SimmbaTrailer— Abhishek Parihar (@BlogDrive) December 3, 2018
It leaves you with no impact. This Genre needs dialogue, good action and much more.
It started nicely but ended a dumb squib.
One of the weakest trailers for a big film.
Simmba is just Rohit Shetty retweeting Singham— P.R. (@pr_akash_raj) December 3, 2018
#SimmbaTrailer has nothing new to serve to the audience. I love Ranveer Singh but he doesn't have that aggression which we have seen in Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan. Rohit Shetty is doing the same thing yet again and i am DISAPPOINTED ! @RanveerOfficial #SimmbaTrailer— Siddharth Mathur (@TheSidMathur) December 3, 2018
#SimmbaTrailer is good .May do well initially but will not cater goers for a long time .— Rahul verma (@RahulVerma4860) December 3, 2018
Singham's entry will create hysteria in Single Screens.— ☄️ (@Vipultweets_) December 3, 2018
Earlier, Ranveer posted a video on his Instagram in which the actor can be seen sharing his experience with director Rohit Shetty. In the clip, he says, ''My experience has been thousands of times more than what I had expected. I’ve never had such a blast making a movie in all the years that I’ve been working. The things that I learnt are the things that I’ll carry forward for the rest of my life, and it’s been cultivated and nurtured by sir (Rohit Shetty). When the hard work of all of us comes together, a film like Simmba is made, which according to me will be a blockbuster.”
Simmba has six songs one of which is a rehashed version of Arshad Warsi's Aankh Maare. Golmaal team, which includes Arshad, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor will be seen shaking a leg with Sara and Ranveer for this track. Simmba is slated to release on December 28. Having said that, Simmba shows the possibility of minting money at the box office considering New Year holidays, Rohit Shetty's fan base and no big releases around it.
