The much-awaited film of the year PadMan hit the cinemas on February 9 amid huge expectations. And, boy oh boy did it live up to its expectations. Starring Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor, the R Balki’s film opened to a decent Rs 10.26 crore at the box-office. Now, the second day BO collection of PadMan is out. Earning Rs 13.68 on Saturday, the social drama now stands at Rs 23.94 crore on the second day of its opening.
Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and wrote, “#PadMan makes RAPID STRIDES on Sat... Picks up SPEED... Biz should be STRONG on Sun too... HEALTHY weekend is on the cards... Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.68 cr. Total: ₹ 23.94 cr. India biz”.

In another tweet, the analyst gave thumb up to the film calling it engaging, inspiring and deeply moving.
PadMan revolves around a man who produces cost-effective sanitary napkins for the naïve women living in the remote areas and educating them about its importance.The film also stars actress Sonam Kapoor in a pivotal role.
Inspired by the life of Coimbatore-based Arunachalam Muruganantham, who found a way to make affordable sanitary napkins for women in his village.
Along with Akshay, the film also features Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. Twinkle Khanna has ventured into production with this project. The lady was so inspired by the story of Arunachalam that she wrote about him in her book, The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad.
