Late actress Nargis Dutt is regarded as one of the gems of Hindi film industry, who made her debut at the age of 6 with 1935 Talash-E-Haq. In a career spanning three decades, the late actress delivered several iconic movies including  Mother India, Shree 420 and Barsaat. Nargis, who was also a Rajya Sabha member in 1980 breathed her last due to pancreatic cancer on May 3, 1981. The actress, who tied the knot with actor Sunil Dutt was blessed with three kids-Sanjay Dutt, Priya Dutt and Namrata Dutt.

We got a glimpse of Nargis Dutt's bond with her son Sanjay Dutt in the actor's biopic Sanju directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The 2018 multi-starrer film had Ranbir Kapoor in lead role along with Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Sonam Kapoor and others. Manisha Koirala played the character of Nargis in the film.

For unversed, Nargis Dutt died three days before the release of her son's debut movie, Rocky in 1981. The actress during her cancer treatment in New York used to record audio messages for her son. If you have seen Sanju, you might remember the scene where the tape recordings not only make the actor emotinaal but also instil motivation in him. Hirani showed how Nargis Dutt's messages helped Sanjay overcome his drug addiction.

Now an old interview of the Munnabhai actor has surfaced on internet, where he is seen talking about his mother and her last message. Young Sanjay says that he didn't cry when his mother passed away but he cried for 4-5 hours after hearing the tape. Sanjay mentions that after two years, one of his friends played the recording for him and on hearing that, he was unable to control himself.

In the audio, Nargis can be heard saying,''More than anything, Sanju, keep your humility. Keep your character. Never show off. Always be humble and always respect the elders. That is the thing that is going to take you far, and that is going to give you strength in your work.”

On a related note, Sanju minted over Rs 300 crore in India and Ranbir Kapoor garnered rave reviews for his performance in the movie.
