Her decision did came as a shock for many, given that Arjun and Katrina share a great camaraderie. But Katrina had a valid reason behind her decision.
The actress felt that her inclusion might prove harmful for the movie because of her screen age.
According to the media reports, Katrina was director Mohit Suri’s first choice for ‘Half Girlfriend’. She had loved the script of ‘Half Girlfriend’ and wanted to be a part of the movie. However, the actress reportedly feared that she might look elder to Arjun Kapoor on the silver screen which may damage the gist of the movie.
Apparently, the ‘Jagga Jasoos’ actress faced the similar scenario while sharing the screen space with Aditya Roy Kapur and Sidharth Malhotra in ‘Fitoor’ and ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ respectively, where her chemistry with the co-stars was cited as unconvincing.
Therefore, Katrina requested Mohit to consider another actress for the female lead after which the makers roped in Shraddha Kapoor opposite Arjun. However, Kaif’s honesty regarding her screen age impressed Mohit Suri who promised to get back to her with a good script.
Interestingly, Arjun and Shraddha will be seen romancing each other for the first time on the big screen in ‘Half Girlfriend’.
