New Delhi: Akshay Kumar is known in Bollywood for experimenting with his roles the most. The ‘Khiladi’ Kumar, who started off as an action hero, has proved his versatile acting talent by giving hits in almost every genre.
Now that he is gearing up for the release of ‘Rustom’, we hear that Akshay has signed for the sequel of Jolly LLB, a 2013 film that starred Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and Suarabh Shukla in pivotal roles.
The superstar himself confirmed being the part of "Jolly LLB 2", in which he will play a lawyer. Talking to a web portal, Akshay said what excited him the most was his role, and the fact that he hasn’t portrayed lawyer yet on silver screen.
"Jolly LLB 2 is a nice script and I quite liked it. I really liked the directors' (Subhash Kapoor) work and I have never played a lawyer's role ever. It is something that I am going to enjoy," Akshay elaborated.
Actress Huma Qureshi too was, reportedly, being pulled on board two weeks ago to play the female lead opposite Akshay.
"Huma came on board a fortnight ago after she cleared a look test," a source told the leading daily.
Interestingly, Saurabh Shukla and Arshad Warsi will make special appearances in the Akshay-Huma starrer. In the first instalment, Shukla played judge, while Warsi essayed the charter of a lawyer.
As per reports, the shooting for the movie will begin from August 15 this year. First it will have a 25 day shoot schedule in Lucknow, and then the team will move to Varanasi. The movie will be wrapped up the in Kashmir.
To be helmed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 2 is scheduled to release in 2017.
