The producer of some successful movies Vidhu Vinod Chopra, opined that it was the story line of 'Dangal', not Amair, which made the sports drama successful at the box office.
Chopra who has given many blockbusters with the superstar graced the success bash of ‘Dangal’. When he was asked about Aamir being the king of box office, he stated that the sports drama would have done equally well even witout Aamir.
Vidhu said, “I think it is the story that really is the king. If Aamir Khan wasn’t part of this story and Hrithik Roshan was part of it, Dangal would have worked equally well at the box office.”
‘Dangal’ did wonders at the box office and people started terming the superstar as the king of box office and the reason behind film’s success. The producer gave the credit of film’s good business to its writer and director.
‘PK’ was the second collaboration of Vidhu and Aamir and the film did phenomenal business at the box office. Talking about that VVC said that the film worked not because of Aamir, but it was the story that was liked by everyone.
Both the celebrities have worked together in blockbuster ‘3 Idiot’ as well.
‘Dangal’ is based on the real life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat. The world wide collection of the film is Rs 716.35 crore . The film also featured Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh in pivotal roles.
