Lok Sabha elections: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday held a joint presser in Lucknow over the Lok Sabha elections and reiterated that the BJP is not going to cross 220 seats.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said, "The trends show that BJP is getting less than 220 seats. Their seats are going to be reduced in Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and Rajasthan. BJP is not going to form its Govt, INDIA alliance is going to form its government..."
Akhilesh Yadav also added, “After four phases of voting, the BJP has suffered a big defeat. They are in tears. Now, we know why they gave the slogan of '400 paar'. Actually, they were looking at the remaining 143 seats (of Lok Sabha) in total 543 seats (on which elections are held). They have themselves admitted that they won't be able to win more that 143 seats."
Kejriwal attacks PM
Arvind Kejriwal asserted that PM Modi is not asking for votes for himself but for Amit Shah. "Next year, PM Modi will turn 75 and he has decided that his successor will be Amit Shah. PM Modi has been working to achieve this for the last 2-3 years. All the big leaders who could have become a hurdle for Amit Shah have been sidelined, whether it is Shivraj Chouhan, Manohar Lal Khattar, Vasundhara Raje, Devendra Fadnavis or others. Now, there's only one leader who could replace Amit Shah and he is Yogi Adityanath. After coming to power, BJP will remove Yogi Adityanath as UP CM within two months,'' Kejriwal said.
