Elections | Dec 09, 2019, 07:42 PM ISTKarnataka by-polls brought good news for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the BS Yeddyurappa-led government has held on to the small majority it had in Karnataka. 12 out of the 15 seats that went to polls in the Karnataka by-elections, went the way of the BJP, taking their overall count to (105 + 12) 117, 5 more than the halfway mark. The by-polls were necessitated by the disqualification of 17 MLAs of the Congress and the JDS.
