Lionel Messi Goat India Tour: Satadru Dutta, main organiser of the event, arrested by Kolkata Police

Lionel Messi's GOAT India Tour organiser, Satadru Dutta, has been arrested by Kolkata police. Notably, chaos broke out at the Salt Lake Stadium after the Argentina captain left the stadium early. Fans called for a refund of tickets.

Kolkata Police has arrested Lionel Messi’s GOAT Tour organiser, Satadru Dutta, after chaos broke out at the Salt Lake stadium during the event. It is worth noting that Dutta was detained while en route to Hyderabad, and the same development was confirmed by West Bengal DGP Rajeev Kumar.

He also added that the organiser has submitted a written assurance that money will be refunded to all the fans who bought tickets and came to watch Messi at the Salt Lake Stadium.

Javed Shamim, ADG Law and Order, in his press conference, talked about how Satadru Dutta had already been detained by the police.

“Satadru Dutta the main organiser of the programme, was already detained by police. Money will be refunded, police ensure that... Processes are going on. Investigation going on,” Javed Shamim, ADG Law and Order said in the press conference.

Rajeev Kumar talked about Dutta’s arrest

Additionally, Rajeev Kumar claimed that a committee appointed by the government will be examining all aspects of the ongoing chaos, which also includes the mismanagement caused during the entire fiasco. 

“We have persuaded the organiser; he has given in writing that the tickets which have been sold will be refunded. The situation is now under control. We have detained the main organiser and ensured that this mismanagement does not go unpunished and that the fans are adequately compensated,” Kumar was quoted as saying by Sportstar.

Furthermore, West Bengal’s governor CV Ananda Bose also confirmed the development. “The organiser has been arrested, the investigation has been done.,” Ananda Bose told ANI.
