IPL 2018, DD vs KKR HighlightsINDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE (IPL) 2018 MATCH 26, DELHI DAREDEVILS vs KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS: live ipl cricket coverage of the match no. 26 of Indian Premier League 2018 at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. A much-needed win for Delhi Daredevils. They finally looked like the team they were meant to going by how they went at the auction. Shreyas Iyer starts his leadership reign on a high. His team completely outclassed Kolkata Knight Riders in all departments. The toss was the only thing that went Kolkata's way. After putting Delhi into bat, the hosts got off to a blazing start as Munro and Shaw (who got a fifty) were firing away. It continued on with skipper Iyer playing the knock of his life. His 73-run stand with Maxwell turned the tide in the hosts' favour as they got past the 200-mark for the first time this season.(CRICKET STREAMING - DD vs KKR)
After putting in a good show with the bat, the home side continued in the same vein with the ball. Trent Boult, Glenn Maxwell and Avesh Khan provided the early breakthroughs and Kolkata were 4 down within the Powerplay itself. It was more or less game over at that point. Yes, Andre Russell and Shubman Gill did try to resurrect the chase and kept some hope alive, but the risk was always big as there was no recognized batsman left after them. The moment the latter got run out, it all went downhill from there and Russell's blistering knock wasn't enough. A clinical performance from Delhi, their third biggest win in the League (in terms of runs), one which they would be proud of. (SCORECARD) (IPL Full Coverage)

23.30 IST: FOUR! Too full, Johnson creams the drive through the covers and sends it across the boundary line. Good timing on that. KKR 160/4 in 19.5 overs
Trent Boult to bowl the final over.
23.25 IST: FOUR! On the pads, Yadav works it fine down the leg side with a sweep. Beats short fine leg and gets a boundary. KKR 151/9 in 18.4 overs
23.23 IST: OUT! That's a superb catch from Munro in the deep. On the stumps, Chawla slogs this over square leg. It's travelling flat and towards Colin Munro, who judges the ball well before leaping and taking it above his head. Kolkata Knight Riders 146/9 in 18.2 overs vs Delhi Daredevils (219/4)
23.20 IST: OUT! Russell blistering knock comes to an end. Avesh Khan is right on the money. Excellent yorker on middle stump, can't get any more perfect than that. Russell makes room, shows all three stumps as he tries to hit. Misses and his furniture is rocked in all directions. All but over now for Kolkata, if it already wasn't. Kolkata Knight Riders 144/8 in 17.5 overs vs Delhi Daredevils (219/4)

23.11 IST: OUT! Mishra has his second of the over. Lovely. Bowls it short and it's the wrong 'un. Keeps a bit low as Mavi goes back to play across the line. It goes under his bat and takes the leg stump. Mishra ends with figures of 4-1-23-2. A superb spell from the leggie. Kolkata Knight Riders 141/7 in 16 overs vs Delhi Daredevils (219/4)
23.08 IST: Shivam Mavi is the next batsman in. He just needs to rotate the strike to Russell. Kolkata still need 79 to win off 27.
23.07 IST: Strategic break.
23.06 IST: OUT! Much-needed breakthrough for Delhi. They break the 64-run stand just at the right time. Russell cuts this towards backward point and Iyer charges to the ball. The batsmen go off for the run and it's dangerous. The throw comes in and Pant whips the bails off. Taken upstairs and the replays show even the dive hasn't saved Gill. He departs rather unfortunately after a good knock. Kolkata Knight Riders 141/6 in 15.3 overs vs Delhi Daredevils (219/4)
23.05 IST: This time the referral is for a run-out and Shubman Gill is the man in question. He looks to be gone. Let's see here...
23.02 IST: FOUR! Now a boundary. Too full on off, Russell gets low and bangs it right back over the bowler's head to send it crashing into the ad-boards. KKR 140/5 in 14.3 overs
23.01 IST: SIX! Goes with the spin and clears the fence with ease. Whoa! So much power in that shot. Tossed up outside off, Russell plants his front foot across and lifts it over the cover fence for half a dozen. KKR 136/5 in 14.2 overs
22.59 IST: 50-run stand comes up between Gill and Russell. Shubman chops it away a bit square on the off side and comes back for the second. KKR 129/5 in 14 overs
Amit Mishra returns.
22.56 IST: FOUR! Goes against the spin and gets the desired result. Shubman Gill takes a step out to the floated ball and lofts it over mid-wicket for a boundary. KKR 122/5 in 13.1 overs
22.54 IST: FOUR! Smart batting from Dre Rus! Uses the angle, uses the pace and puts it away. Short ball going away, Russell rises and steers it over backward point for a boundary. KKR 116/5 in 12.3 overs
22.53 IST: SIX! Straight six over the bowler's head from Russell, that's sheer power from the muscle Russell. That's outta here. Full attacking the stumps, Russell gets his front leg out of the way and smokes it straight back down the ground for a maximum. KKR 112/5 in 12.2 overs
Smart move from Shreyas Iyer. He needs a wicket and needs it fast, so brings his strike bowler back on. Trent Boult is into the attack.
22.49 IST: SIX! The 100 is up with that. Monstrous hit from a renowned master. From around the wicket, Khan bowls it on a back of a length. Russell clears his front leg and heaves it deeper into the mid-wicket stands. 2nd tier this time. What a hit. KKR 104/5 in 12 overs
22.48 IST: SIX! That's almost out of the Feroz Shah Kotla! Short of a length on off, not that short but it's all the same to Russell. He just stands tall and muscles it deep into the mid-wicket stands for a biggie. KKR 97/5 in 11.5 overs
22.43 IST: FOUR! Muscled that! Right in the gap. Andre Russell is a belligerent hitter. Picks up the slower one this time, it's on a back of a length and then powers it with a pull through mid-wicket, bisecting the gap between the two men in the deep. KKR 83/5 in 10.3 overs
Liam Plunkett to bowl his third over.
22.39 IST: FOUR! Superb placement and timing from Shubman Gill. Did not hit that with too much power at all. Just helps the pull through mid-wicket, beating the two men out in the deep for a boundary. KKR 83/5 in 10 overs
Andre Russell is the new man in for Kolkata.
22.36 IST: OUT! First wicket of the season for Amit Mishra! He is delighted with this. Tosses it up close to off, Karthik looks to clear the infield over covers by opening his body up a bit and then tries to loft it. Ends up slicing it towards point where Trent Boult takes one of the simplest catches he's ever taken. Half the side back in the hut for the visitors now. They need 143 in 63 balls. Kolkata Knight Riders 77/5 in 9.3 overs vs Delhi Daredevils (219/4)
22.32 IST: SIX! What a delightful shot! Fuller from Shankar, on off, Gill picks his spot and lofts it over long off with a clean strike. Very well hit. KKR 73/4 in 8.3 overs
22.29 IST: Strategic break signalled. Kolkata have been put under the pump and in real trouble as Delhi have plucked 4 wickets inside the Powerplay. Dinesh Karthik and Shubman Gill now stand in the middle and have a massive task ahead of them. The experience of the skipper might come in use, but the young Gill will have to keep a calm head and stitch a good partnership. Can't afford to lose any more wickets right now.
22.28 IST: Decent one from Mishra, just 5 from the over. KKR 66/4 in 8 overs
Amit Mishra called on to bowl.
22.24 IST: SIX! Short boundary over on the leg side and that's gone all the way. Short ball, angling down, Karthik pulls it over the backward square leg and clears the rope for half a dozen. KKR 60/4 in 6.4 overs
22.19 IST: FOUR! Superb shot! Full on off, Gill knows what he wants to do here. He lofts it over mid off cleanly and finds the fence. KKR 51/4 in 6 overs
22.16 IST: OUT! Avesh Khan removes Nitish Rana for 8. Proper pacer's wicket for Avesh Khan! Superbly done. Hits the deck hard and bangs it in short. Rana is in no position to play the pull shot. Still goes through with it, gets a top edge which Khan takes it with ease moving to his left. Kolkata are 4 down now and we're not even done with the Powerplay. KKR 46/4 in 5.1 overs
22.14 IST: Six runs off Plunkett's over. Delhi seem to be in control as Nitish Rana and Dinesh Karthik hang on. KKR 46/3 in 5 overs
22.10 IST: FOUR! That's a beautiful shot! Khan slants across a length ball outside off, Rana opens the face and punches it firmly through point. Perfectly in the gap and that will race away. No stopping it. KKR 40/3 in 4 overs
22.04 IST: OUT! Trent Boult removes Sunil Narine. And Boult has the last laugh. Can't keep a bowler of his quality out for too long. Super. The dangerman Narine departs. Short of a good length angling in on middle and leg, the West Indian makes a little room to pull but spoons a top edge towards Iyer at cover. The Delhi skipper comes inside a few steps and takes it with ease and a lot of glee. Kolkata rocked early and in some trouble now. KKR 33/3 in 3 overs
22.03 IST: SIX! Another one by Narine. Back-to-back maximums for Sunil Narine! And this isn't any ordinary bowler, it's Trent Boult. Full on leg, Narine backs away and smokes it straight back over the bowler's head for a biggie. KKR 33/2 in 2.4 overs
22.02 IST: SIX! Sunil smashes this one out. Takes the attack to Trent Boult and earns a maximum to his name. Full ball, in his arc and Narine doesn't need any second invitation to put this away. Backs away, gets his front leg out of the way and launches it over long off. KKR 27/2 in 2.3 overs
22.00 IST: OUT! Another one and this time Trent Boult removes Robin Uthappa. Just the start Delhi needed! Kolkata are two down in no time. Soft dismissal in the end, really. Short in length, on middle, it's quick in pace which hurries Uthappa into the pull shot. He gets a top edge towards mid-wicket where Shaw takes a simple catch moving backwards, a little to his right. KKR 20/2 in 2.1 overs
21.56 IST: OUT! Clean bowled! A six and a four conceded, but the big fish has been caught. Chris Lynn is sent off for 4. Perfect start for him and Delhi. Maxwell comes from over the wicket this time and bowls a quicker one on off. Lynn is done in by the pace and gets cramped for room too. Looks to force it through the off side, with no foot movement, and ends up getting an inside edge back on to the stumps. KKR 19/1 in 1.5 overs
21.55 IST: FOUR! Smashed outside off and sails for a boundary. Better placement this time. Beats Munro out in the deep. Around off, Narine crashes it through the gap in the covers, beating the fielder to the rope. KKR 18/0 in 1.3 overs
21.54 IST: SIX! Narine smacks that straight down on Maxwell's delivery. And that's a big one too. Narine welcome Maxwell with a maximum. Tossed right up there from around the wicket, Sunil targets the straight boundary and smokes this with a lot of power there. Clears the fence with absolute ease. KKR 14/0 in 1.1 overs
21.52 IST: FOUR! Right off the mark and Lynn gets the scoring on.Nice placement. Short of a good length into the body, Lynn swivels and pulls it powerfully along the ground, through square leg for a boundary. KKR 4/0 in 0.2 overs
21.51 IST: Shreyas Iyer was on fire!
21.48 IST: Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine come on to bat for KKR. Trent Boult will bowl the first over for DD. Let's get started with the chase as we expect to see plenty of fireworks as well.
Innings Break.— IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) April 27, 2018
A fine innings by @PrithviShaw, followed by a stupendous knock of 93* by Shreyas propels the @DelhiDaredevils to a total of 219/4.
Stay tuned, chase coming up in a bit #DDvKKR #VIVOIPL pic.twitter.com/FDrconI9BI
21.36 IST: SIX! Finishes things off in a grand manner, Iyer. This time the length is on the shorter side, Shreyas camps back and dismisses it over long off for a maximum. 29 runs from the over, Delhi end on a massive 219/4! DD 219/4 in 20 overs vs KKR
21.35 IST: FOUR! A jab by Shreyas! Gets a full delivery around off and crunches it over mid off. That's once again is struck with immense power and the long off fielder stands no chance. DD 212/4 in 19.5 overs
21.33 IST: SIX! Smoked away! Iyer is in a different zone at the moment. Mavi digs in a short delivery in line of the stumps, Shreyas gets on top of the bounce and hammer-pulls it over mid-wicket. This is extraordinary batting! DD 208/4 in 19.4 overs
Vijay Shankar is the new man in.
21.32 IST: OUT! Maxwell is gone! He was too eager to get on strike after Shreyas failed to put bat to ball on this delivery. It was a clever one by Mavi. Too full and wide outside off. The keeper quickly released the ball to the bowler who scored a direct hit to find the Aussie short. The third umpire confirmed the same and the 73-run stand off 32 balls comes to an end. Delhi Daredevils 202/4 in 19.3 overs vs Kolkata Knight Riders
21.30 IST: SIX! Change of angle by Mavi but the result is the same! 200 up for Delhi! This one is full and on the pads, Shreyas swings his bat like a hammer and dispatches it over mid-wicket for a maximum. Huge pressure on Shivam now! DD 202/3 in 19.2 overs
21.29 IST: SIX! A mighty one! That's not the length to bowl at this stage, Mavi. He bowls it full and just around off, Shreyas latches onto it and cracks it over covers for a biggie. DD 196/3 in 19.1 overs
Shivam Mavi to bowl the final over.
21.28 IST: FOUR! Connects and connects well this time. Full and in the slot this time, Maxwell stands his ground and hammers it straight back down the ground for a rocketing boundary. 11 off the over. DD 190/3 in 19 overs
21.25 IST: SIX! That's as flat as a Formula One racetrack. Short ball down the leg side, Maxwell moves inside the line and with a little swivel, he pulls it over short fine leg for a biggie. DD 186/3 in 18.2 overs
21.23 IST: SIX! That's more like it from Maxwell. Narine commits the mistake of dropping it short and Maxwell makes him pay dearly. Rocks back and blazes his pull shot over long on for a maximum. DD 179/3 in 18 overs
— Delhi Capitals (@DelhiCapitals) April 27, 2018
21.21 IST: SIX! Once again dropped near the rope! Iyer once again aims to go downtown but it has gone high but not too long. Rana gets underneath it long on, tries to take the catch but puts it down and it goes over the rope. DD 170/3 in 17.3 overs
Sunil Narine into the attack.
21.17 IST: SIX! Excellent batting by Shreyas. Plenty of movement inside the crease by him to confuse the bowler. Mavi ends up serving it full and right in the hitting zone for Iyer. He rockets it over extra cover and it sails over the rope. DD 158/3 in 16.5 overs
21.16 IST: FIFTY! DROPPED & SIX! Shreyas Iyer hits his 9th half-century of IPL career. Mavi hurls across a full ball around middle, Shreyas thwacks it over mid on and it flies in the deep. Uthappa moves across to his right to attempt for the catch, jumps a bit to do so but ends up parrying it over the rope. The umpire quickly checks upstairs before signalling for a biggie. Delhi Daredevils 152/3 in 16.4 overs vs Kolkata Knight Riders
21.12 IST: Strategic break. Delhi are going strongly and have a platform set for a big finish. They have Maxwell and Iyer in the middle and would hope that this pair does the job as they don't have much firepower left in the tank in terms of big hitters. Kolkata would try to limit the damage as much as possible.
21.09 IST: SIX! Wow, great hit! Russell bangs in a short ball around off, Iyer uses the depth of the crease and flat-bats it over extra cover for a maximum. 13 runs and a wicket off the over! Gambhir in the dugout loved it. DD 140/3 in 15 overs
Glenn Maxwell into the action now. Perfect time for him to walk in and start smashing it away. Delhi need a big finish.
21.04 IST: OUT! A golden duck for Rishabh Pant! Russell has hurried Pant with his pace and bounce, targets his shortish length ball superbly, Rishabh is caught inside the crease as he gets ready to leave it. But once again the ball stays lower than expected and takes his gloves on its way towards Karthik who takes the simplest of catches. Delhi Daredevils 129/3 in 14.2 overs vs Kolkata Knight Riders
Rishabh Pant walks out to bat next. Also, Andre Russell is brought back into the attack.
21.02 IST: OUT! Oh no, that stayed a little low and Shaw gets bowled. An unfortunate end to a very promising knock by Prithvi Shaw. Never mind, just applaud this extraordinary effort by a future star. Chawla with a googly around off, a bit on the shorter side around off and it sneaks under the bat of Shaw who was looking to strike it over the leg side. The stumps illuminate and that marks the end of a 68-run stand. Delhi Daredevils 127/2 in 14 overs vs Kolkata Knight Riders
20.59 IST: SIX! That's high and mighty! Shreyas showing his range now. Chawla serves it flighted and full just around off, Shreyas gives it the full whack of his bat and dismisses it over the bowler's head. Pressure straightaway on the bowler. DD 124/1 in 13.1 overs
Piyush Chawla returns in the attack.
20.58 IST: SIX! Boom! It goes all the way! Johnson digs in a short ball around middle and leg, Shaw uses every bit of his height to ride the bounce and then plays a sweetly timed pull shot. Perfect connection and it flies over the rope at square leg. DD 118/1 in 13 overs
20.56 IST: FOUR! Inventive! Finally connects with one to bring up the 50-run partnership. A nicely directed short ball by Johnson again, this time Iyer crouches, keeps his eyes on the ball and upper cuts it down to third man for a boundary. DD 111/1 in 12.4 overs
20.51 IST: SIX! High and handsome! 100 comes up for Kolkata! A nice stride forward by the Delhi skipper, beautiful extension of his arms as he hoists it with the spin over mid-wicket for a biggie. DD 100/1 in 11.1 overs
20.49 IST: FOUR! Putting on a 'Shaw'! Russell errs and serves a low full toss around off, Prithvi presents the full face of the bat and caresses it back past the bowler for a glorious boundary. DD 94/1 in 11 overs
20.48 IST: FIFTY! Maiden fifty in the Indian Premier League for Prithvi Shaw! A shortish delivery around off, Shaw taps it down to third man and takes a run. He has got very bright future! Showing his class and maturity. Delhi Daredevils 89/1 in 10.4 overs vs Kolkata Knight Riders
20.47 IST: FOUR! This little man has got some power! Fetches a short delivery from around off and muscles his pull shot over mid-wicket for a boundary. DD 88/1 in 10.3 overs
20.45 IST: Shaw uses his feet and flicks a full ball with the spin to deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs. 7 runs from the over. DD 84/1 in 10 overs
Strategic break signalled. Good battle going on between bat and ball at the moment. Delhi started briskly but then Kolkata pulled things back after dismissing Munro. Still, the home team will feel that they have an upper hand and would like to post a big total owing to a wonderful start. Let's see how the Kolkata spinners fare in the middle overs.
20.39 IST: SIX! Prithvi, the new kid, flies a helicopter! Delightful. No respect whatsoever to one of the most fearsome bowlers in cricket! Great wristwork shown by the young man. He receives a length ball in his half, rotates his wrists skillfully and launches it over mid-wicket for a biggie. That shot will make MS Dhoni proud. DD 76/1 in 8.5 overs
20.38 IST: FOUR! Well played! Johnson switches to round the wicket for Shaw but hurls a length ball on his pads. The young pad quietly picks it up and flicks it with great timing through the backward square leg for a boundary. DD 70/1 in 8.4 overs
20.35 IST: Once again slower delivery, on middle and angling down, Shreyas helps it through mid-wicket and rushes back for the second run. A pretty weak throw from the deep to Karthik and it was also way off target. 5 runs from the over. DD 64/1 in 8 overs
Shreyas Iyer, the new Delhi skipper, is the next batsman in. Big responsibility on him, he has a foundation to work on now. Let's see how he fares this evening.
20.29 IST: OUT! Sound of timber and Mavi roars in delight! Brilliant delivery, he keeps it full and around off, once again the pace is right up there as Munro tries to drill it through covers by making some space. But it takes the inner half of his willow and destroys the stumps. A fine knock by the Kiwi but he will be disappointed not to have cashed in on the start. Delhi Daredevils 59/1 in 7 overs vs Kolkata Knight Riders
20.23 IST: FOUR! Time for Prithvi to show why he is so highly rated. As soon as he gets the width outside off, he shows no mercy and bludgeons it through cover-point. Good battle, this. 57/0 in the Powerplay for Delhi, by far a great start this season. DD 57/0 in 6 overs
20.18 IST: SIX! That's smoked! Narine drops it full and on middle, Colin clears his front leg immediately and muscles it over mid-wicket for a biggie. The Kiwi is taking the West Indian to the cleaners. Not allowing him to settle here. DD 51/0 in 4.4 overs
20.17 IST: FOUR! Nicely played! A carrom ball landing full around off, spinning away, Munro goes deep inside the crease to make space and forces it through the gap at covers. DD 45/0 in 4.3 overs
20.15 IST: FOUR! Munro gets into the act now. Mavi is bowling at a good speed but he has not struck good length. Once again he is shortish outside off, Munro gives the charge and spanks it down the ground to long on. DD 40/0 in 4 overs
20.12 IST: FOUR! Bang! Great connection on this occasion. Once again plenty of width on offer outside off and good batsmen rarely miss out. This time Prithvi packs a punch and smashes it through point. DD 35/0 in 3.2 overs
20.11 IST: FOUR! And again. Chawla under pressure. All the experience he has but he's feeling the heat against a newcomer. Fires in a quicker and shorter one on middle, Shaw stands back and pulls it powerfully in front of square leg. No chance for the fielder in the deep. DD 31/0 in 3 overs
20.10 IST: FOUR! The little Shaw showing his class this time. Attacks the flighted ball around off and powers it with the spin over covers. It goes on one bounce to the fence. Turning out to be an expensive over from Chawla! DD 25/0 in 2.4 overs
20.08 IST: FOUR! Not in much control but still it's a boundary for Colin! Full and spinning away from outside off, Munro tries to loft it over covers but ends up slicing it over backward point. It flies over the infield and races away to the fence in no time. The Kiwi opening up now. DD 21/0 in 2.2 overs
20.06 IST: SIX! Munro goes big! Once again the length is on the shorter side, this time the Kiwi quickly goes deep inside the crease and hammers it over long on for a maximum. DD 12/0 in 1.5 overs
Spin from both ends! Kuldeep Yadav to roll his arm from the other end.
20.02 IST: A leg-spinner on this occasion from Chawla, a bit short in length and not turning much, Shaw hits it across the line through mid-wicket and gets off the mark with a couple. DD 3/0 in 1 over
19.59 IST: So far, the home team has faltered at the start and will be hoping for a good beginning today. Kolkata to start with the spin of Piyush Chawla. Here we go...
19.57 IST: Time to play the game! The umpires are walking in. Kolkata quickly get into a huddle before spreading on the field. Once again a big crowd has come to watch this contest. The atmosphere is buzzing. Out come the openers for Delhi, the young Prithvi Shaw and the destructive Colin Munro.
19.38 IST: Shreyas Iyer admits that there is pressure and it's a big responsibility on him. He is very clear in his mind that they need to win seven out of the remaining eight matches to go through and adds that anything can happen in cricket. Further informs about the team changes - Colin Munro and Vijay Shankar replace Daniel Christian and GAUTAM GAMBHIR!
19.35 IST: Dinesh Karthik says that he has heard about a little bit of dew in the evening and hence batting will get easy later on. Brief Preview: Struck by the crisis emanating from Gautam Gambhir's resignation as captain, a beleaguered Delhi Daredevils face a herculean task to revive their IPL campaign when they clash with Kolkata Knight Riders at Feroz Shah Kotla on Friday under young skipper Shreyas Iyer. Gambhir leaving captaincy midway into the tournament does not guarantee resurrection of the side but the left-hander's decision has given the team management a chance to infuse new life into the franchise with new ideas.
Gambhir's rough patch, along with poor form of other batsmen, has resulted in over-reliance on young Rishabh Pant. The team has lost five of its six matches and is languishing at the bottom of the points table. (Read Full Match Preview)
