After Lalu was charged in the multi-crore fodder scam, he was asked to quit his position hence leaving the chair of Chief Minister empty. Lalu transferred the power to his wife Rabri and she took over as the Chief Minister of becoming the first ever woman CM of Bihar.
It was speculated that the transfer of power was only on paper and it was still Lalu who was ruling through wife Rabri.
