Former Minister and Congress leader Ajay Maken, who lost from New Delhi to BJP's Meenakshi Lekhi, had remarked on Twitter: “What a Cabinet of Modi?HRD Minister (Looking after Education) Smriti Irani is not even a graduate!”
Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi had also remarked that Smriti Irani, who is heading the HRD ministry, was not a graduate.
The BJP has described these remarks as “unfortunate”. Party leaders said the Congress should self-introspect rather than raising such issues.
Kiran Bedi tweeted: “If Smriti Irani can give India a 3 H model of education, Head,Heart,Hands,as a Minister,she may become the Architect of a New Generation”.
