Congress to select LS nominees for Telangana, Seemandhra this week

The party constituted separate pradesh committees for both the regions with Ponnala Lakshmaiah nominated as the president for Telangana and Raghuveera Reddy for Andhra Pradesh (Seemandhra).

Also separate election committees were formed for both the regions, wherein senior and popular leaders were accommodated in the committees.

While 17 parliamentary seats are in Telangana are going for elections on April 30, people in the residual Andhra Pradesh would exercise their franchise on May 7.  

A good show in Andhra Pradesh in the 2004 and 2009 Lok Sabha polls ensured the Congress-led UPA rule at the Centre for ten long years.

Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh are also being held simultaneously along with the Lok Sabha polls.
