Highest strike rates for India in Test, minimum 1000 balls
Check out the list of five cricketers with the highest strike rates for India in Test cricket. A minimum of 1000 balls were considered for the list. Interestingly, pacer Mohammed Shami also features in the list.
Legendary cricketer Virender Sehwag holds the record for the highest strike rate by an Indian batter in Test cricket history. The former opener, who played 103 matches, scoring 8503 runs in the longest format of the game, played with a strike rate of 82.18. He registered 23 centuries in the format.

1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev stands second on the list of the highest strike rate by an Indian batter in Test cricket history. Notably, Kapil has played 131 Test matches in his career, scoring 5248 runs at a strike rate of 79.33. It is extraordinary to say the least, esepcailly as aggresive batting wasn't associatied much with Test cricket back in the day.

Interestingly, pacer Mohammed Shami is third on the list of the highest strike rates for India in Test cricket. Shami, known for his aggressive batting in Test cricket, has a strike rate of 74.62 in the format. Nevertheless, he barely joined the list, having played only 1005 deliveries in Test cricket.

Flamboyant India keeper-batter Rishabh Pant is fourth on the list. He has been incredible in the format, having scored 4546 runs in 46 Test matches that he has played. Pant has a strike rate of 74.19 in the format, which is only expected to rise as time passes.

Former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan is fifth on the list of the highest strike rates for India in Test cricket. Ever since his debut in Test cricket, the southpaw has been extremely successful, having scored 2315 runs in 34 matches, at a strike rate of 66.94. He hit eight centuries in Test cricket.
