4. Veteran India batter and former skipper Rohit Sharma is widely revered as one of the most successful captains for the Men in Blue. He has the fourth-best batting average for a captain in ODI cricket. It is worth noting that in 55 innings as captain, Rohit scored 2506 runs to his name, and maintained an average of 52.2 runs.

3. Former India cricketer and skipper MS Dhoni has the third-best average for a captain in ODI cricket, surpassing both Rohit and Williamson. Dhoni led the Indian team across 172 ODI innings, where he scored 6641 runs to his name, and maintained an average of 53.55 runs.

2. Former South Africa cricketer AB de Villiers was widely regarded by many as one of the most destructive batters of his time. The swashbuckling batter surpasses the likes of Dhoni, Williamson, and Rohit and has the second-highest batting average for a captain in ODI cricket. De Villiers led the Proteas across 98 ODI innings where he scored 4796 runs, maintaining an average of 63.94 runs.
