Pushpam Priya Choudhary, Janata Dal-United leader Vinod Chaudhary's daughter, announced her entry into Bihar politics with an ad blitz on International Women's Day. She introduced her political party as Plurals. Her two-page newspaper advertisement in Hindi and English featured a tagline 'Bihar deserves better, and better is possible'.
The 33-year-old leader declared herself the chief ministerial candidate of her party and promised to turn Bihar into Europe by 2030 if voted to power.
Besides that, she has announced that her party will contest on all 243 seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections, of which 50% will be women.
Choudhary herself contesting the elections from Bankipore Assembly seat in Patna district, where she is facing a stiff challenge from BJP's three-time MLA Nitin Navin and Congress' Luv Sinha, actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha's son.
Her election affidavit shows that she has Rs 27.89 lakh bank balance and owes Rs 4.91 lakh education loan which she took to pursue studies in Birmingham's Institute of Development Studies.
To establish a connect with people, Pushpam Priya has been touring villages and meeting locals in Bankipore for the past six-seven months.
Choudhary has announced that Plurals Party will give tickets to well-educated people like a social activist, teacher, and doctor.
Pushpam Priya's father Vinod Chaudhary is considered close to JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar, her uncle Vinay Chaudhary is also contesting the Bihar elections.
