Santorini, GreeceSantorini is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km (120 mi) southeast from Greece's mainland. It is the largest island of a small, circular archipelago which bears the same name and is the remnant of a volcanic caldera. It is deliciously different. Geographical newness is in part to thank. The island's popular black volcanic Perissa and Kamari beaches are big draws, as is its arguably most famous Red Beach near Akrotiri.2. Sri Lanka Known by a flotilla of aliases, the Resplendent Isle is one of gorgeous beaches, tea plantations and ancient cities. Scuba dive, visit an elephant orphanage and a lagoon of singing fish, explore dense jungle, shrines and temples. Situated just 20 miles off India, the island formerly known as Ceylon is home to 20 million people and six World Heritage sites.3. Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand It is the largest of the Phi Phi Islands, in Thailand. It is a non-volcanic island, made mostly of limestone. Accessible from Phuket, with all visitors arriving by boat, Ko Phi Phi Don has great beaches and popular diving and snorkeling spots.4. Bali, IndonesiaBali is a province in the country of Indonesia. The province covers a few small neighbouring islands as well as the isle of Bali. The main island is located in the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying between Java to the west and Lombok to the east. It has always been a dream place to visit for travellers from around the world. Its beautiful beaches, its warm, clear blue waters and the friendliness of its native people have all combined to make Bali a very popular holiday destination.5. Galapagos Islands, EcuadorThe Galápagos Islands are an archipelago of volcanic islands distributed on either side of the Equator in the Pacific Ocean. Abundant wildlife above and below the waves draws eco-tourists to Ecuador's Galapagos. Get up close on a stroll or in a Zodiac boat. Snorkel and dive with denizens of the deep, from sea lions to sea turtles at Santiago's Cousin's Rock.6.Ischia, ItalyIschia is a volcanic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea. It lies at the northern end of the Gulf of Naples, about 30 km from the city of Naples. It is the largest of the Phlegrean Islands. It is famous for its beaches and the healing waters of its spas. The town is divided in two: Ischia Porto is the harbor district and commercial center of the island, filled with brightly lit taverns and bar.7. Easter Island, ChileEaster Island is a Polynesian island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeasternmost point of the Polynesian Triangle. Easter Island's not the easiest place to reach. Isolation has helped preserve the 1,500-year-old mysterious congregation of volcanic rock sculptures here.
