Singapore: The Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) is in collaboration talks with one of India's

leading business school.

"We are in talks with Pankaj Natu, Associate Professor of Thakur Institute of Management Studies and Research (TIMSR), to see how we could collaborate in some of the curriculums and courses," said Jeff Tan, SIM's senior manager, Relationship Management, Enterprise & Professional Development.

SIM had hosted 80 full time post graduate students and 4 faculty members in February this year.

"The Thakur Group is very interested in our programmes," Jeff Tan said.

Currently, both sides are assessing the potential of working on programmes for Indian professionals, he added. This is SIM's first approach to collaborate with an Indian institution.

Elaborating on the SIM programmes, its Executive Director Ronald Tan said, "Some of the programmes attract sizeable overseas participation which further enriches learning at SIM in an increasingly connected business world."

"India's cultural beliefs are important when dealing domestically. However, organisations, in looking to expand regionally and internationally would need to understand other countries cultural cornerstones," Tan said.

SIM, founded in 1964, provides platforms to challenge one to think outside the box and expand ones understanding.

TIMSR, established in the year 2002, today is deemed as one of the best business schools in the western suburbs of Mumbai.
