Kolkata: In a tribute to the singing legend Manna Dey, having immortalised Kolkata and the foodie Bengali, his city has rustled up the delicacies savoured by the music maestro.

Taking references from his light modern Bengali classical romantic number 'Ami Raji Tumi Raji Ekchhute Bhara Nodi Hoye Jabo Paar' to the timeless 'Coffee House' number, Manna lovers will savour the fish kobiraji and cutlets as liked by the icon.

"There will be 'Ami Raji Tumi Raji Chalo Khai Fish Kobiraji', College Street Chicken Cutlet as the ones served in Coffee House and liked by Mannada, Rajbarir Kosha Mangsho, Eparer Posto Murgi and Payesh (rice kheer)," a spokesman of the 'Tribute' food event said.

"We hunted the rich delicacy treasure trove of Bengalis, by hunting the heritage Kolkata restaurants serving all lip-smacking dishes like kobiraji cutlet, and typical Bengali style mutton 'kosha' which were a hit with the 19th-20th century Royal families of the city and their descendents," a spokesman of fusion food chain 'Funjabi Tadka' said.

"We also hunted memoirs and personal accounts of people and settled for the menu. It will be a unique tribute food event on behalf of our North India-specific outlet," he said.

"While menus like Sunny da pasand Tandoori Lollypop, Tilwale Bharwan Aloo took the diners to a ride through the vast fields of wheat and mustard, through hay topped huts, this time we are hosting this tribute to Manna da whose Bhajahari Manna can be the ultimate song for a foodie," he said.

Popular actor Gargi Roychoudhury said, "Ami Raji….." is my favourite Manna Dey song, like countless other Bengalis, and Kabiraji cutlet. Would love to taste the delicacies. I think cuisine is another form of art."
