The islands of Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar are the jewels of the Sea. Tourists flock to these islands throughout the year except during the South-west monsoon months when seas are extremely rough.2. Beauty of Western GhatAlong the south-western coast of India lie the western ghats mountain range. These are also called Monsoon mountains. The ghats are home to more than 5000 species of plants and about 35% of these are endemic to this area. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the eight hottest hotspots of biological diversity in the world. The Western Ghats is also known as Sahyadri mountain range. These are home to a large variety of flora and fauna along with many undiscovered species. It is known for natural beauty with highest peaks,several man made lakes and reservoirs, waterfalls and green scenery.3. Mangrove Forest-SundarbanMangrove forest is a woody community that can be periodically submerged in seawater of the inter-tidal zone of tropical and subtropical regions. Astonishing Waterfalls in Shillong- Nohkalikai-falls-MeghalayaNohkalikai Falls is one of the taller waterfalls in India , Its height is 1100 feet (335 metres). It is located in Mawsynram ( a small village located on the East Khasi Hills of northeast Meghalaya state) . It is one of the wettest places on Earth. It makes a dramatic free leap from a fairly well-forested drainage into a rocky base accompanied by a pretty blue pool. The Tiger Reserve is one of the largest National Park and home to significant population of Royal Bengal Tigers and Indian leopards along with Indian wild dogs. Kanha National Park is very rich in wild life and mostly covered with dense bamboo and sal forests. 6. Araku Valley on Eastern GhatsThe Eastern Ghats is range of mountains along with the eastern coast of India, from West Bengal state through Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. Beautiful Araku valley is a hill station in Andhra Pradesh and home to different tribes. Araku valley is the most beautiful part of valley in the Eastern Ghats.
