Mumbai: Raj Kumar Dhoot, brother of Videocon group owner Venugopal Dhoot, today filed his nomination on a Shiv Sena ticket for Rajya Sabha seat from Maharashtra.
He was accompanied by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and other leaders.
Dhoot went to the state assembly to file his nomination papers. Dhoot's present tenure in Rajya Sabha is expiring on April 2.
The last date for filing nominations is Jan 28, scrutiny is on Jan 29, last date of withdrawal of nominations is on Jan 31 and polling, if required, will be on Feb 7.
Congress is yet to decide whether it will renominate Hussain Dalwai and Murli Deora or not, whereas NCP supremo Sharad Pawar will contest Rajya Sabha elections.
RPI leader Ramdas Athawale and BJP spokesperson Shaina NC are among the aspirants.
