Bhubaneswar: Odisha government yesterday said it was considering a proposal to confer the Biju Patnaik Bravery Award on social activist Linkon Subudhi, who was attacked in Noida for opposing child marriage last month.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said this after felicitating Linkon at the state secretariat here.
The 29-year-old woman was attacked brutally after she protested when a when a 16-year-old girl was being forced by her family to marry a middle aged man against her wishes.
The groom and the mother of the girl stabbed her and hit her with bricks leaving her seriously injured.
